oh, y'all. when i saw this recipe, it sounded so lovely and delicious that i knew i wanted to try a version in our little home. and you know what? these are so lovely and delicious that i'm not sure i'll ever make green beans another way, ever.
slow roasting these greens beans gives them an amazing texture, and the garlic, shallots, and herbs make the flavor truly special. simple, gorgeous, tasty. let these green beans find their way to your dinner table. you'll be so glad they came along.
1 lb. green beans, trimmed
2 shallots, thinly sliced
5 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tsp. fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 tsp. dried)
2 tsp. fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 tsp. dried)
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
preheat oven to 375. combine all ingredients into a bowl and toss together until well combined. lay out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil.
roast the beans for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to prevent sticking (toward the end of the cooking time, you may need to stir more frequently, say every 10 minutes, so they don't stick).
you'll have these wilted, browned, beautiful green beans with incredible flavor. i could make an entire meal of these. i won't put that pressure on you, but do give them a try, won't you?
